The challenger is very similar to the cars I idolized in my youth . . . at least in exterior style. The "goods," however, are unbelievable, and I expect it will have excellent acceleration, handling, etc., etc. The styling is a bit too conservative and derivative, but i'm sure its road presence will be amazing.

I JUST WET MY PANTS!!!
Seriously, this thing is f*cking insane!!! If Chrysler wanted to, they could go the route of Ford GT with this thing and easily charge anywhere from $80K-$125K. Hopefully they won't. If this is the R/T version, what the hell will the SRT version look like. I must say, the CHARGER SRT-8 is insane looking. GO MOPAR!!!!

Yeah, this is a pretty good looking concept, that is, until you see the new Camaro concept. Compared to that, this thing looks bland and fat. It may have slightly more HP, but unless it seriously goes on a diet before going into production, this thing will have its ass handed to it by the new Camaro and the upcoming Boss/Mach1 Mustang.

One bad ass car. I am a chevy man, but I now drive an old mustang and would not eve think of buying a new chevy... the camaro prototype is too bulky.
This car is somewhat bulky, but very true to the original. I would put it on my want list!!!
Would be the life of any party and the camaro would barly get an invitation... what's wrong with GM?

DaimlerChrysler, if you are reading this, and I know you are, BUILD IT!!!!!!!! Price it competitivly with the Mustang so Mopar has a ponycar that goes head to head with it. You need this car, as the excitment over your 300C/Magnum/Charger is waning, and you need to infuse your company with some new excitment. Again, build it, and build it quickly.

The Hemi has 425 hp, 420 lb-ft of torque, and a six-speed manual transmission. So geared, with its 4,100 pound weight, it can do 0-60 in 4.5 seconds (with 20 inch wheels on front and 21 inch wheels on back), and runs the quarter mile in 13 seconds flat; top speed is 174 mph (limited by wind resistance), while gas mileage is estimated at 14 city, 20 highway, very good compared with the original Challenger.

Chrysler please don't screw this one up. Tell the Daimler people to stay in Germany and build Mercedes. Build it as it is and price it reasonably and they sell. I would have bought a new Charger but it is just another ugly 4 door automatic.

Hello folks, Im posting from Brazil, Im a big Hemi fan and I hope DC dont mess it all up when turning the concept into a production car, as Ford did to the Mustang (Yes, the 05 Mustang is a beuty, but the concept was a killer, just as the Challenger concept is!).
Indeed, the Challenger is a beautiful car! Looking forward to the Plymouth Cuda version (I hope)!!!

The Challenger looks nice but I too like the Camaro concept better. Id buy either. The only issue with the Challenger is if they dont offer it with the 5.7 hemi they will not sell nearly as many as theyd like. The 6.1 is the same that is used in the SRT versions of the Charger/Magnum/300C. A base Charger SRT8 is going to cost you $38k MSRP. This is going to cost at least $35k. That is in no way $$ competition for the Mustang. Thats not saying it wont sell because it will, just not nearly as well as if they off a lower 5.7 hemi version. A base 5.7 could come in under 30k and thats what the need to offer as well.

Finally!
Someone woke up at Chrysler! I had a Challenger in the early 70s and loved it. I now have an 03 supercharged cobra and it is a very nice car, and did I mention very fast as well (2.7" pulley swap) for added boost. Here is the thing, STICK TO A SOLID REAR AXEL! The wheel hop with that much power is sometimes uncontrollable and damaging. This is why Carol Shelby is NOT using an IRS in the 07 Cobra GT500. I have added support to my IRS and still get wheel hop if I am not careful, it's the only thing I don't like about the car.
Cheers,
Mark
